Is Hell Real?

Definition of annihilationism:

the theological doctrine that the wicked will cease to exist after this life.

This is a big word that means that those without Christ will not suffer eternal suffering because they will simply cease to exist.

Someone else said that:

“Annihilationism is the belief that sinners are destroyed, rather than tormented forever in hell as in the lake of fire.”

The first known use of annihilationism was in 1847

This doctrine seems to leave out what we see clearly stated in the Bible.

Revelation 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. 11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

This is the future being explained from the book of Revelation. If we believe that this is part of God’s Word, we must heed these words.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

It seems hard to believe that the wicked or those without Christ will cease to exist when the passage above tells of judgment after death.

II Peter 2:9 The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgment to be punished:

According to 2 Peter there will not only be judgement after death, there will also be punishment.

Proverbs 11:21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: But the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

Those who are saved because of the cross of Christ will be delivered. Sadly, those without hope or those who have rejected the cross of Christ, will be punished for all eternity.

Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Friend, please listen to the Word of God! Please heed these words and ask God how you can preach salvation message to those without hope.
